Me again! 32 weeks! We went out to dinner at Bandera last night, one of our favorite restaurants. It was so good. I ordered the ribs and it was an entire rack. It must have been pretty funny seeing a very pregnant lady with a giant rack of ribs in front of her. Haha. But in my defense I only ate 5.

Baby Shower

I was given a wonderful baby shower on 5/16 at Lucca. There were about 26 ladies present and the shower was thrown by four of Marina’s very dear friends and her sister. It was really lovely and boy did we make out with some fantastic gifts; stroller, car seat, hi-chair, tons of clothes, bathtub, bouncer, and so much more. These women are amazing. I felt so honored by all of them. Costa is going to be one lucky little boy to grow up around such incredible women. One of the ladies there took the pictures so I will post them later.

31 weeks and counting. We talked to our OB and our due date still stands. No moving it forward. We just have a big baby on our hands and we love him so much. This belly is getting a bit uncomfortable though and he is such a mover. He seems to get comfy right under my ribs. He is only going to get bigger so I’m bracing myself.

Costa is GROWING

We had another ultrasound today and we found out that our little man is not so little. He’s estimated at 3.75 lbs already. That’s about a pound larger than the average size for almost 30 weeks along. He is a big boy, but all is well and he is healthy and strong. We heard his heart beat at 136 bpm and got to see his cute face and hands and feet. One of his hands was holding onto his umbilical cord. It was adorable. Most importantly they were able to see that my placenta moved up. Earlier in my pregnancy it was low. Now I am in the clear for a regular delivery unless this growing boy grows too big for me to handle. I am crossing my fingers that doesn’t happen. They also estimated that our due date is July 3rd. It keeps getting closer and closer. That is quite a change from July 13th. We will have to find out from our OB just how accurate this new date is. But in my opinion, the sooner he is here in our arms the better, as long as he is fully developed. We love him so much already.

28 weeks. We had our hospital tour today (4/24/12) and I have to admit that it made me a little nervous. It was just a reminder of how close we really are to the due date. Being a first time mom I have some anxiety about what labor will be like and all of the unknown can be scary. I’m just hoping for the best and thanking my lucky stars I have such a wonderful husband. He always makes me feel more confident.

My handsome husband at the San Juan Education Foundation 1st Annual Golf Tourney at Lincoln Hills Golf Course on 4/21/12. He’s so cute. He got to play golf while my mom and I shopped for baby Costa and decorated his room.

Finishing Costa’s room today with my momma. We had a great time! Only one corner left and it’s waiting for the glider we ordered. Nesting is fun! (Taken with instagram)

The baby doves on our patio have hatched. About a week ago I noticed broken shells on the ground, but I could not see the babies. Now, their little heads are poking out. So cute! The parents don’t seem to be in the nest much anymore. I guess it would be cramped up there on that little speaker. I know they are coming back to feed the babies because there is dove droppings all around the patio that the babies could not have made. I am so glad they hatched and are thriving. Nature at its best.

More Carmel and 24 weeks

What a rainy, but relaxing weekend.  Lots of rest and lots of food!

On our last day we had the best brunch, I think ever, at a little place called Casanova’s  on Fifth and Mission in Carmel-by-the-Sea.  The food was so delicious and pretty much worth the entire drive.  I would tell anyone going to Carmel to stop here and eat for sure.  You won’t be disappointed…we sure weren’t!
